The Mercedes ELV/ESL Emulator is a gadget that simulates both the electronic steering lock (ELV) and the electronic steering column lock (ESL) in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. These devices are typically used when there is an issue with the ELV or ESL that might prevent the vehicle from starting.
Thanks to a security feature known as the ELV in more recent Mercedes vehicles, the steering wheel is locked in position when the car is parked. The ESL, on the other hand, is an electronic lock that is mounted in the steering column and prevents the vehicle from starting unless the proper key is entered and turned.
If either of these parts is malfunctioning, the car might not start.
